Overview

An “electric cylinder” refers to a cylinder driven by an electric motor, typically composed of a ball screw, gear, and motor with a built-in brake. Similar to hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, it can be used for various applications. The electric cylinder offers advantages such as easy installation with simple wiring to the power source, eliminating the need for pumps and compressors. It is also environmentally friendly, as it does not cause oil leaks or oil mist dispersion. Additionally, it has low running costs. By rotating the ball screw with the motor, the electric cylinder enables high-precision positioning and operation, even with heavy workloads.

  • Bearing connection points that receive large loads.
  • Places, where bearings subject to load, are prone to loosening due to repeated forward and reverse rotation.

Improvement

  • Torque axial force management is now possible.
  • Workability has been dramatically improved without the use of chrysanthemum washers.
  • Cost can be reduced by not requiring keyway machining.
