Overview
A railroad turnout is a mechanism that diverts a train’s track and selects its course. The switch of the turnout is a device that changes the track. The switch adjuster adjusts the stroke transmitted from the switch, changes it to a point stroke, and makes the tongue rail (a rail with a thin tip) adhere to the basic rail.
Implementation
- Places where a maximum impact of 500G is applied when a train passes.
- The switch adjuster is a moving part where vibration and shock are concentrated and easily loosened.
- Places where it is essential to maintain the rail gauge.
- Places where it is necessary to make delicate adjustments to the gauge.
Improvement
- The loosening problem was solved, and the maintenance time, period, and total cost were greatly reduced.
- Accidents caused by looseness have been resolved and safer operation has become possible.
