Overview
Haneda Airport D runway is a high-raised runway using the latest technology called “Jacket Method” to address concerns about water quality deterioration and flooding caused by land reclamation. In addition to the load from takeoff and landing of aircraft, the pier area is subject to severe corrosion, requiring high corrosion resistance in addition to fatigue durability.
Implementation
- Areas subject to excessive vibration during takeoff and landing of aircraft.
- Areas where corrosion due to sea winds is a concern.
Improvement
- The loosening phenomenon has been reduced, and problems with bolt damage have been resolved.
- Concerns about corrosion have been eliminated by avoiding damage to bolts.
